CHOCOLATE MOUSE
This is one of my favorite desserts because it is easy to make, tastes decadent and is actually low calorie (approx. 300 calories and that's not bad for a dessert).
What you will need:
12 oz. semi sweet chocolate chips
1 tsp. orange extract (you can also use raspberry, halzenut or any of you favorite flavors)
1/4 cup milk
1/3 cup sugar (white)
10 egg whites beaten to stiff peaks
In a microwave safe bowl add chips, extract and milk melt on high for 1 1/2 minutes let sit in microwave for 1 minute. Remove from micro and stir until smooth, set aside at room temperature.
Meanwhile, seperate egg making sure not to get any yokes in them. Add a pinch of salt and beat on med-high speed until frothy add 1/3 cup sugar and continue to beat until it forms stiff peaks approx. 8 minutes.
In a large mixing bowl combine melted chocolate and beaten egg whites, fold together gently ( important: do not stir, whip or blend) You can fill individual serving cups or place in one bowl cover and refridgerate at least 2 hours or overnight garnish and serve.
Enjoy!
